This experience was designed for Tovala to address a key challenge in its subscription-based business model. The issue centers around users like Jennifer; a frequent big-box shopper who purchased a Tovala oven after seeing an in-store demo, but chose not to sign up for the meal delivery plan. While the company benefits from the initial product sale, it misses out on recurring revenue from meal subscriptions.
To bridge this gap, my solution introduces a physical and digital touchpoint at a critical moment in the user journey: unboxing. Included with the oven is a visually engaging fridge magnet (see below) designed to immediately catch the user’s attention. Featured on the magnet is a QR code that leads to a short personalized meal quiz that allows Jennifer to input her dietary preferences, likes, and dislikes. Based on her responses, Tovala recommends curated meals tailored to her tastes, creating a more engaging and personalized experience.This design encourages users to connect with the Tovala meal platform, increasing the likelihood of subscription conversion.
